Atlas Navi has introduced an AI-app with a rewards and discounts program for drivers. Заглавный коллаж статьи.
  • The Atlas Navi development team has unveiled the Drive2Earn 2.0 AI solution.
  • The app, which rewards drivers for taking videos, has been downloaded 700,000 times.
  • With the rewards program, car drivers will be able to save up to 85% on fuel costs.

Atlas Navi, an AI-based navigation innovator, has unveiled Drive2Earn 2.0. The developers told Incrypted about the app’s new features and unique earning opportunities for drivers.

According to them, with this solution, the Atlas Navi team aims to surpass Tesla and become the market leader in capturing and analyzing vast quantities of data from dashcams. According to the latest data, the mobile application has been downloaded more than 700,000 times.

As the project representatives noted, the AI solution rewards drivers for filming by paying out NAVI tokens. The footage is analyzed locally, on the smartphone or the dedicated Atlas Miner device, which soon to be available worldwide for purchase, with proprietary computer vision A.I. algorithms.

How Atlas Miner works

According to the team, the arrival of the Atlas Miner device entails a number of major changes to the NAVI’s Drive2Earn model. Connected to a dashcam, the device records and analyzes video from the road, collecting the following information:

  • the number of vehicles in each lane and their speed;
  • road construction areas;
  • vacant parking spaces;
  • police cars;
  • closed roads, potholes, and more.

At the drivers’ request, the videos are stored in the cloud, which helps improve the training of artificial intelligence algorithms. In the near future, the team plans to expand the list of countries where Atlas Miner can be purchased.

How to save money on fuel purchases with Atlas Navi

Currently, drivers participating in the program can get a discount of up to 25% off the cost of fuel. The updated version of the app gives regular users a chance to save even more while helping other others avoid traffic hotspots and stay safe on the roads.

According to the statement, newly unveiled and rare Boost NFTs will allow owners to receive 50% more rewards than before, taking 37.5% off the petrol’s price. Meanwhile, incentives for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto users will be doubled — pushing their maximum discount on gas fees to 75%.

The press release states that a new partnership with OMV / Petrom — the largest chain of fuel stations in Romania with 560 locations — will allow drivers to exchange NAVI tokens for fuel vouchers that give money off when filling up their cars. An additional 10% on the amount they refuel is on offer. Altogether, this could slash 85% from the cost of a tank.

“Over 150,000 drivers use our app every day — and we’re determined to put money back in their pockets. Countries worldwide have seen the cost of living surge in recent years — but by downloading Atlas Navi, they can put petrol prices in reverse,” said George Grama, CEO of the project.

According to the startup, over 150 million miles have been driven using Atlas Navi so far. At the same time, the average time spent using the app is 46 minutes a day.

The team’s ambitious plans

Atlas Navi representatives told Incrypted that a number of major car manufacturers are collecting driving data. BMW and Mercedes, for example, use cameras to detect potential accidents. However, this information is not uploaded to servers to train AI-based autonomous driving models, and drivers are not rewarded for generating this data, according to the press release.

Atlas Navi ranks second second-largest collector of autonomous driving AI data behind Tesla. It is expected that with the Drive2Earn 2.0 solution, the project could become the leader by next year.

Atlas Navi explains that the mobile app and the new Atlas Miner hardware device, which is about half the size of a smartphone, can be used in any vehicle, as an aftermarket add-on. Several top car brands have already expressed interest in gaining access to the Atlas Navi’s anonymized data.

The report states that dashcams are part of a rapidly growing market. As of 2022, there were more than 22.5 million devices in operation and this is projected to increase to 78.4 million by 2032. They can allow drivers to receive significant discounts on insurance premiums and collect evidence in the event of an accident.

Real-life examples of Atlas Navi usage

As the project representatives noted, for the end user, Atlas Navi’s AI navigation app saves not only money, but also time when traveling long distances or in congested cities.

The deployment of artificial intelligence enables the use of advanced routing technologies. According to experts, Atlas Navi analyzes roads 25 times per second and generates 100 times more data per mile than other navigation apps that rely on manual reporting of traffic issues from their drivers, instantly steering users away from problematic areas.

From a safety standpoint, the app also offers a number of advantages. With Atlas Navi, drivers will be able to livestream the trip, allowing family and friends to keep track of their progress. Large groups traveling to the same destination in multiple vehicles will also be able to monitor each other’s location, solving a number of problems.

Thanks to Atlas Navi and Driving Score, car owners will be able to improve their driving style through a Driving Score, the developers said. Drivers can secure insurance at more competitive rates if the driving behaviour is deemed safe.

The app reportedly reminds you to renew your policy and alerts you when it’s time to get a vehicle inspection or renew your road tax. This reduces the hassle of maintaining the car while also protecting its value, the company said.

Notably, every vehicle connected to Atlas Navi is represented as an NFT, accompanied by 3D illustration, the developers noted.

According to the project representatives, with Drive2Earn 2.0, Atlas Navi takes the world’s driving economy to a new level and unlocks the additional potential of AI applications.

“Atlas Navi has been on an incredible journey since we first started building our ground-breaking A.I. infrastructure back in 2020. Receiving $1.6 million in funding from the European Union through an AI innovation grant was also a significant milestone for us. Looking ahead, we’re determined to integrate our technology directly into vehicle production lines for consumer markets — allowing even more drivers to use our transformative product for themselves”, said George Grama.
