Taiko is a ZK-Rollup that allows developers on the Ethereum network to easily migrate their dApps to the Taiko L2 without any code changes.
The team has launched the Katla testnet. The announcement was made before the launch of the mainnet, which will take place at the end of the first quarter of 2024.
Guide to the testnet
Note: you will need a Metamask wallet to complete the testnet. If you don’t have one, you can use our guide to install and configure it.
Preparation
Add the Taiko Katla and Holesky networks one by one by clicking Add to Metamask:

Go to the faucet to receive ETH on the Holesky network. Click Sign Up and log in or create a new account. After that, on the Faucets tab, specify the wallet address and click Claim tokens:
Note: if the faucet does not work, you can use a third-party one.
It is also worth considering that the requested tokens can take a long time to arrive.

Next, go to the next faucet and request HORSE tokens, as shown in the screenshot:

Main activity
Go to the bridge and transfer ETH and HORSE tokens from Holesky to the Katla network:

Next, connect your wallet on the website and make a few swaps:

On the Pools tab, click New position and add liquidity in the desired token pair:

Notes: there are no tasks related to the testnet at the time of writing. The project team may add them later.

Go to the game’s website and connect your wallet to the Katla network. Click on Mint:

Conclusion
Before launching the mainnet, the project team is making the final adjustments to its network and has already announced that this stage of the testnet will be the last. The interaction is identical to the previous stages. It is not yet known whether the team plans to conduct any drops.
