ATH token mining with Aethir Edge
In March 2024, the Incrypted editorial team talked about Aethir and selling access to the project’s nodes. At the time of writing, this was an unpopular method of distributing validator duties among users, which had previously only been used by XAI developers.
Now, the Aethir team is creating another way to distribute tokens — Aethir Edge — a physical device for mining native ATH tokens that is powered by Qualcomm. Read more about the specifications on the official website.
Using Aethir Edge, owners claim a share of 23% of the entire ATH offering. According to the team’s statement, 40% of this 23% will be received in the first year after the launch of mining, while the remaining 60% will be split in unequal parts over several years. More information is at the link.
At the time of writing, the second round of Aethir Edge sales is expected to start, which the team announced on their X (formerly Twitter). The number available for sale is 6,000 units at a price of 1,099 USDT each. The sale will take place on June 6 on the site in several stages:
- 14:30 (UTC): among users who have earned a spot on the project’s whitelist for previous activity;
- 15:00: among all those who pre-registered and made a deposit of 50 USDT;
- 15:30: start of public sales.

Conclusion
The creation of mining device projects is not a new idea and previously known among the crypto community. However, previous variations were aimed at mining bitcoin, ETH or other popular assets that work (or have worked) by Proof-of-Work consensus. In the case of Aethir Edge, it is a device aimed at mining native ATH tokens. Once the appropriate volume of tokens is completed, the device will support the functionality of the Aethir ecosystem.
