Activities on the Eclipse
Eclipse is a new Layer 2 modular network whose main idea is to realize the power and performance of the Solana virtual machine on the Ethereum blockchain using modular technologies.
In September 2022, the project team managed to raise $15 million in pre-seed and seed rounds led by Polychain Capital and Tribe Capital respectively. Two years later, the startup received another $50 million investment in a Series A round, joined by Placeholder, Hack VC, Delphi Digital, Maven 11, DBA and Fenbushi Capital.
Incrypted’s editorial team has previously covered the activity on the Eclipse testnet and, at the time of writing this new guide, the contract deployment interaction is still relevant and worth doing as well.
The project’s testnet was aimed more at developers. Mainnet, oddly enough, is also just for them, as the team announced at the end of July during the launch.
The new material will be divided into two parts. In the first, we’ll take a look at the available activities that a regular user can perform. We will complete the guide after the announcement of public access to the mainnet. Add our airdrop section to your browser bookmarks so you don’t miss it.
Part 1: getting the mainnet up and running for developers
Note: you need a Metamask-type wallet to pass. If you don’t have one, you can use our guide to install and customize it.
Install Salmon extension
If you have previously installed the wallet when interacting with testnet, you can skip this step.
- Go to GitHub and download the build-extension.zip file by clicking on it. Next, unzip it:
- Turn on developer mode in your browser and download the previously unzipped extension:
- Open the extension and create a new wallet, saving the seed-phrase in a safe place:
- Open the wallet, switch the network to Eclipse and copy the address.
Note: at the time of writing, you can select Testnet or Devnet on the extension, but the address that is displayed will remain until the main network is launched. So we use it for the deposit.
Replenishment of the Eclipse core network
The project team has not yet created an official application through which the translation can be done. However, one of the community members has prepared an alternative that you can use.
The created UI solution allows us to connect, for example, Metamask and transfer ETH to Eclipse from the Ethereum network to the specified address, which we copied on the Salmon wallet. The minimum amount for the bridge is 0.002 ETH. These funds will be blocked until they are released to the public and it is impossible to do anything with them at the time of writing.
Whether such activity will be counted for potential aidrop is unknown. However, due to the difficulty of execution, it will be done by a small fraction of participants and such uniqueness of the wallet could potentially benefit.
Important: consider all the risks of interacting with an unofficial application and the rationality of blocking 0.002 ETH for an indefinite period of time.
- Go to the site and connect the wallet:
- Enter the desired amount (from 0.002 ETH) and your address from Salmon wallet. Click Bridge. When confirming in the wallet, take into account the amount that will be spent on the commission. If it is too high – it is worth waiting for lower gwei rates:
- A few minutes after successful transfer your wallet balance will change. You can check it on the same page:
Having performed the previous steps, you have interacted with the Eclipse mainnet for the first time. If desired, you can periodically repeat the transfer to accumulate unique days, but consider rational ETH locks. Do your own research.
Transfer through Validators
Note: the material in this unit is supplemental.
The Backpack project team announced in their X (formerly Twitter) the realization of full Eclipse mainnet support for developers in their wallet extension. The new update will allow us to implement cross-network translation with a better interface. Also, we will immediately cover interaction with the new Validators protocol.
Additionally, this interaction between the Backpack and Eclipse teams may indicate that the former’s exchange may later have an additional campaign to farm the latter’s tokens, or simply a drop for active users, as was recently the case when a MAX asset equivalent to $330 was sent to those who were trading daily.
- In the Backpack extension, add the Eclipse Dev Mainnet and switch to it:
- Go to the site and connect the main wallet from which you will transfer ETH and Backpack. Enter the amount from 0.002 and click Bridge:
NFT Interaction
In honor of the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, the Eclipse project team announced a mint of unique NFTs on their X (Twitter). Anticipation (of a future event) collection pieces were only available for 24 hours. During that time, 190,203 NFTs changed hands, while getting tokens per address was limited to five. Unique holders at the time of writing are 51,435 and more than half own between 4 and 10 NFTs, according to OpenSea.
The Eclipse team also noted that once the mainnet goes live, there will be an opportunity to move NFTs into their network to showcase the final dynamic work based on different phases of the solar eclipse.
Note: it is better to buy the NFTs from the same address from which the deposit to Eclipse was made.
- Go to the Rarible marketplace collections page and connect your wallet.
- Select the desired amount of NFTs and proceed to purchase.
Note: the price at the time of writing is 0.003 ETH. The transaction is carried out in the Ethereum network, so take into account the gwei indicator.
Applying for NFT from After School Club
After School Club is one of the first NFT collections on the Eclipse blockchain. At the time of writing, the project’s Discord has implemented the possibility of obtaining the unique role of Brick.
Users who fulfill the simple conditions will take part in a drawing for access to the preliminary round of the NFT mint before public access.
Note: the date and price of the NFT acquisition are unknown.

Next, you should follow ASC’s social media channels so as not to miss important announcements regarding the NFT mint. Decide for yourself whether to buy it. Conclusion
Early activity in the project mainnet can be a significant advantage. Its implementation requires the expenditure of real resources. It is worth periodically interacting with the network and communicating in Discord.
