Antwerp will host Future of Bitcoin 2024 conference

On 5 October 2024, Future of Bitcoin 2024 conference will be held in the Belgian city of Antwerp. It is expected to bring together bitcoin experts, enthusiasts and representatives of the crypto industry.
The organisers told Incrypted that the venue for the meeting will be the historic Handelsbeurs building in Antwerp, built in the 16th century for the world’s first stock exchange. It symbolises progress and innovation, so it is perfect for the second Future of Bitcoin conference, the release said.
The event’s programme includes a variety of sessions, panel discussions and workshops. It also offers new opportunities for networking and introductions.
Team representative Levi Haegebaert emphasised the importance of the conference for the industry:
«Belgium has played a crucial role in the development of bitcoin, especially in the field of cryptography. About a third of Belgians already own bitcoins, and among young people it is even almost half. Still, compared to our neighboring countries, we lag in crypto initiatives. The Netherlands, for example, has more than 20 crypto exchanges, while Belgium has none. Therefore, it is of great importance to me to keep the bitcoin scene alive in Belgium and provide a platform where ideas and innovations can be exchanged.».
The organisers stressed that attending Future of Bitcoin 2024 will be of interest to everyone, regardless of their level of knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. The conference covers a variety of topics and is for Dutch speaking attendees only.
Speakers and conference programme
According to the organisers, more than 30 experts will speak at the event, including:
- Tuur Demeester — bitcoin analyst;
- Jameson Lopp — security expert;
- Aaron van Wirdum — author of «The Genesis book»;
- Ivan Van de Cloot — famous economist;
- Gertjan Verachtert — tax expert;
- Willem Middelkoop — financial expert.
In addition to the inspiring keynotes, conference guests will have the opportunity to visit an exhibit hall with stands and participate in various discussions on the topic of digital assets. In addition, the programme includes a lunch for all participants with the opportunity to network in an informal setting, as well as a visit to the VIP area with a three-course dinner.
